Heating Crisis Predicted for Western Mass

Here's a heads up regarding heating costs:

"Casting an ominous shadow this season, there is a heating oil crisis looming for Massachusetts next winter.

With the astonishing run-up recently in crude oil prices, the fuel which warms more than a third of the homes in the state now costs between $4.30 and $4.50 a gallon in most of the Pioneer Valley. That is almost $2 above the price of last June.

However, the U.S. Energy Information Administration predicted last week that heating oil prices will not be any lower next winter. The agency said that the retail heating oil price, including taxes, would average $4.46 a gallon in the Northeast during the upcoming October-March heating season.

That is $1.19 a gallon higher than the average price in the Northeast during the same months of the last heating season, and $1.96 above the average price of the 2006-07 season. "

Needless to say, we can help. Call me at 508-717-9447 to see how we can stop the bleeding for you.

Best

Jeff
